GPAR Members,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide you with an important update regarding recent developments concerning the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

As you may be aware, NAR has reached a settlement in several lawsuits brought against it. This settlement, which is subject to court approval, marks a significant milestone in addressing concerns within our industry. The details of the settlement include provisions aimed at enhancing competition and providing greater choice for consumers.

It’s essential to stay informed and engaged as these changes unfold. GPAR will continue to monitor and communicate the impact of the settlement as we gain more clarity about its implications and how it may affect our practices.

We encourage all members to thoroughly review the settlement message from NAR President Kevin Sears. Also, watch his video with NAR Chief Legal Officer and Member Experience Officer Katie Johnson. Additional information is also available at Facts.Realtor which includes a fact sheet about NAR’s action and FAQs. NAR is also updating the Competition.Realtor website with information about the settlement as well.

Our industry is constantly evolving, and it’s through collaboration and adaptability that we can continue to serve our clients and communities effectively. Let us embrace this opportunity for positive change and work together towards a stronger real estate market. As your association, we are committed to providing you with the necessary resources and support to navigate these developments. Please stay tuned for future communication from us.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Finally, I am grateful for your GPAR membership and everything you do to help consumers and their pursuit of their homeownership wants, needs, and dreams.

Best regards,
Chris Mattioli
2024 GPAR President
